Should I be bold and daring or safe and unchanged?

 I needed something to do.  Something to occupy my time.  I grabbed the small can of paint that has been sitting in the corner of my kitchen just waiting to be used up.  I grabbed the can of paint and went to my staircase, I have started this before and ended up just doing a couple of spindles and the bottom baluster. My paint is white and it was always a white staircase so it doesn't really show where I started & stopped, yet...

I started and then said I am going to take a break with a cup of coffee and check on pinterest & see what information they had.  Colors, bright & bold colors.  OK, just what I was searching for.  Check out the statement on this staircase.

My search showed me walls & ceilings and spindals all painted in so many different ways than the basic black and white. Sometimes things changes and when your personal tastes lean to bold color choices, exciting, color combinations, what you are doing is adding a little of your personality to the staircase. I also took some time and looked through a paint chip deck and choose a few cards that would give me a broad range of similar colors. So, I think I am going to paint the banister the darkest tone and then apply the remaining colors to the spindles, one color each, wow what a statement that would make, right?

 After all of that, I still think I am going to stick with the white spinals and leave my natural wood on the rail and top of the baluster.  What would you do?  Would you go for the bold & colorful or the basic black & white? 

Well this is it!  I found a picture that looks like my staircase (almost).  I think for now I better stay with the safest and perhaps when I am feeling a bit daring and need something different going on, that is when I will apply my real personality to my staircase to heaven!

Those are some pretty scary images at least I thought so.  I couldn't believe the news I read the other day and needed to share it with all of you because, I wasn't sure if you have heard the latest reports of hospital ERRORS!  I have to admit, I am shocked.  For someone like myself, I have multiple medical problems & an autoimmune disease & etc..(I could go on and on and on.) I wanted to make a quick post just in case there is someone out there like myself who is either sick a lot or is in and out of the hospital.  After I read this article it just assures me more and more why I need to be my own Advocate when it comes to my health.  Always get the answers you are searching for & if you have that gut feeling something doesn't sound just right, go with your gut & go for a 2nd opinion.  Here is the news story I am talking about, see what you think. 

AUGUSTA (WGME/AP) -- A new state report shows mixed results when it comes to serious errors, injuries and accidents in Maine hospitals and other health care facilities.

The Department of Health and Human Services has required hospitals, surgery centers, kidney centers and intermediate care facilities to report "sentinel events" since 2004.

Our media partner, The Sun-Journal, reports that the latest figures, for 2012, show two people had the wrong body part operated on, 14 had something left behind in their bodies during surgery and 36 died in a hospital setting of something they weren't expected to die from.

The wrong body part figure was unchanged from 2011. The number of items left behind during surgery dropped by two, while the number of unanticipated deaths dropped by 25.Maine releases latest tally of hospital errors

Hospital-acquired infections alone kill 90,000 people a year in the U.S. They increase the length of hospital stays and cost $6 billion annually, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

Scary huh?  Can you imagine, having surgery then getting an Xray done only for them to say you have a small pair of scissors inside you, or gauze and I am sure many other things have been found and never brought to anyones attention.  If that is only Maine's report, what about other states that have a bigger population and the hospital's are a lot larger than Augusta, Maine, for instance.  I wonder, what about MA General, now there is a large hospital with a great rating as far as I know, but, I would like to see there error report!


 

How and why I started getting FREE STUFF

It really doesn't matter what the company sends you, because it just feels good just receiving something other than a bill from the electric company or phone company . In stead of constantly battling negative thoughts or with feelings of hopelessness, despair or sadness. When you are depressed those feelings are quite common & it doesn't mean that you are crazy at all!
